Cultivating Capital
About the customer
Cultivating Capital was founded in 2010 with the belief that business can be a force for good and that sustainability harnesses the power of capitalism to create the change we want to see in the world.
Cultivating Capital envisions a world in which all beings live with dignity. To make this vision a reality, we equip businesses with the community, knowledge, and support to use business as a force for good.
The EcoSend Support team were very helpful during our migration period, and offered a level of hands-on assistance we had never experienced with Mailchimp. It’s nice to know you’re dealing with a real human whenever you submit a Support request!.

The challenge
The team at Cultivating Capital were first made aware of EcoSend following an introduction by Tim Frick of MightyBytes.
Cultivating Capital were interested in understanding how they could address the carbon footprint of their email campaigns, as well as explore an alternative to their current email provider; Mailchimp.
Choosing a company that prioritises conscious capitalism is integral to our mission. We are also pleased with the email engagement results we have seen since switching from Mailchimp. We’ve seen our campaigns reach up to 73% Open and 26% Click Through Rates; so the switch has been a success not just from a Sustainability perspective, but also for our campaign performance.

Results
To begin their migration, the team at Cultivating Capital deployed the EcoSend Mailchimp Importer to bring across their audiences from Mailchimp, along with all associated tags and custom data.
This was an important first step, to ensure the team could continue to segment between Clients and Prospects within their database, as well as differentiate between confirmed and prospective BCorps.
Having migrated their audiences, the next step was installing EcoSend Forms on the Cultivating Capital website.
Cultivating Capital deploy both embedded EcoSend Forms for BCorp Consultancy enquiries, and EcoSend pop-up Forms for sign-ups to their Newsletter.
With their audience imported, and new sign-ups entering into their Contacts area from the new Forms, Cultivating Capital were ready for the final stage of migration; uploading their email template and sending their first campaigns.
The EcoSend Design team uploaded Cultivating Capital’s Newsletter template from Mailchimp, ensuring the Cultivating Capital team were ready to complete the migration and send out their first climate-conscious Newsletter!
